Steve Cavanaugh’s passing

Steve Cavanaugh, former, and highly-respected head of the Louisiana Workers Comp Corp, passed away last week.
While I only know Mr. Cavanaugh by reputation, by all accounts he was an insightful, innovative, and effective leader. After leaving the LWCC, Cavanaugh had begun working to build a new insurance carrier in Texas. He succumbed to pancreatic cancer last week at the age of 55.
Thanks to Workers Comp Executive for the notice.

  1. I knew him well. One of the best executives in the workers comp insurance arena, and a gigantic pioneer in Louisiana.

  2. Stephen Cavanaugh truely enjoyed life and was inspiring. If I can ever say I knew a man that LIVED his life, it was Mr. Cavanaugh. He was amibitious and had a huge heart. It saddens me that he will no longer be around to make others laugh. It was a pleasure to have known him. May his wife and children rest in the peace that he lived a life to be proud of and that our maker will take care of him now.
